Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO)

An Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) is the natural person who ultimately owns or controls a legal entity (such as a company or other legal arrangment), or on whose behalf a transaction or business relationship is conducted.

In general, a UBO is an individual who:

  • Directly or indirectly owns or controls 25% or more of the ownership interests or voting rights in a legal entity; or

  • Exercises ultimate effective control over a legal entity through other means, even if no ownership threshold is met.

As part of our legal and regulatory obligations, we are required to identify and verify the identity of the Ultimate Beneficial Owner(s) of legal entity clients in accordance with applicable Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) requirements.

If you are uncertain whether an individual qualifies as an UBO, you should obtain an independent legal or professional advice.
